Aloes too strong for debutant’s Tornados

It was promising start for the Tornados in their Telkom Netball League debut but it ended in a 34 – 29 loss to the Aloes.

 In the first quarter, the Cape girls were a bit anxious, enabling the Aloes to take charge and dominate the game.

Tornados came over the stage fright in the 2nd quarter, giving Aloes a run for their experience. Although the communication at the shooting circle between   Jody Vorster and Noluvuyo Nodludlume was great, hard work and dedication was demonstrated by the Tornados defense.

With the consistence defense from the Tornados, in the 3rd quarter, the Aloes were quite challenged by the underdogs. Amazing combination at the shooting circle between Rochelle Rossouw and Rieze Straeuli making great use of the balls received from Leigh-Anne Phelekwa and Adri Kannemeyer while the Aloes struggled with reckless mistakes.

A very rushed final quarter as the Tornadoes continued to put pressure on their opponents. The Aloes eventually bounced back as Steyn put pressure on the Tornados shooters and turning the balls around. With very much effort from the Tornados, Aloes came out top.
