Day 6, brings a wrap to TNL Round 1
Day 6 of the Telkom Netball League commenced this morning with the Stings taking on the Stars. Once again, the odds were against the stars. The Stings took a clean 44 – 32 victory making it their 3rd win in the league. The Stars are currently sitting at the bottom of the league on their first appearance in Division I.
It wasn’t a great morning for the KwaZulu-Natal teams as the Queens also lost 34 – 43 to the Sunbirds. In the last minutes, the Queens’ quick turnaround set the court on fire; but not enough to steal victory from the Sunbirds at the top of the log in Division 2.
The North West Diamonds are what you call ‘fight till the end’ as they fought for triumph against the Aloes. Unfortunately, the Aloes came well prepared. They executed a 29 – 45 wins making it their 4th victory in the league.
The fourth match of the day raised SA netball margins. Two great teams with never die mentality fought till the end. Gauteng Jaguars took on the hosts, the Free State Crinums. Jaguars remain undefeated as they rewarded themselves with yet another victory coming out top with a 42 -39 win.
TNL debutants, the Western Cape Tornados took their 3rd victory as they won 27 – 20 against the Baobabs, placing them 3rd on the log. The Tornados are definitely making a name for themselves.
