Lions hit by Covid – 19

The Emirates Lions on Wednesday confired that the franchise has been rocked by four positive Covid – 19 cases.

The individuals affected by the virus remain unnamed.

“Four positive cases of Covid-19 have been detected among the Emirates Lions squad this week. The team gets tested every week as required by protocol.

These players, all of whom are A-symptomatic, have been removed from the squad.

All protocols have been kept and the relevant parties have been informed.

We are ready and preparing for the Toyota Cheetahs at Emirates Airline Park this weekend. The team will be retested as per Covid protocols,’ said the Lions in a press statement.

The Lions will take on the Toyota Cheetahs this weekend, these news of the coronavirus may disturb their preparations for the game as they are chasing their first win.
