“Courage and Character” behind Cape Town City’s Good Run

The resumption of the Absa Premiership has given Cape Town City a new lease of life, during this period they have been the leagues form team collecting nine out 12 points available to them.

Jan Olde Riekerink has managed to rally his troops for the climax of the season, and someone who has led from the forefront during this time is their talisman Kermit Erasmus who has scored three goals in four games. The striker pins this resurgence on the team’s hard work and improvement of individual performances.

“The team’s performance has been good; we have been working hard during the lockdown for the resumption of the league. And I think we started really well and showed a lot of courage and character in a lot of games we have played since we resumed the league,” said Cape Town City striker Kermit Erasmus.

A platform for Erasmus to showcase his talent has been provided by his teammates, who have taken their game to the next level as they look to finish strong in the league.

“The individual performance of each player has been outstanding and mines stand out because I have been scoring in the game that we’ve won; and without my teammates I wouldn’t be possible for me to be in the position to score.

Credit must go everybody for fighting and staying together, that’s what a team is about and I’m proud to call these soldiers my brothers. I’m looking forward to what’s to come in the last few games,” added Erasmus.

City take on Golden Arrows this evening, then face Highlands Park on Wednesday and conclude they’re with a home game against SuperSport United.
