A Letter to My Young Self: Sigi Burger
A Letter to My Young Self
Dear Sigi
Firstly, I want to start by saying you are enough, beautiful and oh so loved. The world is your oyster, and one day you are going to change beautiful children’s lives all around the world.
Yes, you are tall, and yes, you are loud and slightly weird, but I want you to use that to your advantage. I want you to use your height and see it as your little secret weapon that makes other people incomparable with you. You are loud and passionate about life, and don’t let anyone dampen your mood or try to change who you are. You are going to lighten up many people’s lives. Yes, times may be tough, and you won’t always be selected for everything, but NEVER give up. Ever. Do you understand me? Work hard, and if you could follow one bit of advice it’s this. Do things today that others don’t, so that tomorrow you can do what others can’t. It’s not about how many times you get knocked down, it’s about how many times you get back up. The most important thing you are going to realize in your life is: DO NOT let other people define who you are or allow people to define how good you are.
People will come and go, and those girls bullying you will soon be running back begging to be mates with you- when they do- be kind. You can be friendly with everyone but you don’t need to let everyone be your best mate.
Girl, you’ve got this, you’re going to be amazing, just keep going, and keep dreaming BIG.
Yours Loving
Sigi Burger
Ps: you end up with some really sexy boy who will treat you like the princess you are, who cares really deeply for you and who will take incredible care of you.
