Mobara Glad to Be Reunited With Fielies
In recent years the biggest conundrum with Cape Town City defender Abbubaker Mobara, has been which position is his best; filled with versatility he can play right back, centre back and defensive midfield.
His recent performances at the heart of City’s defence since the resumption of the league suggest that his found his permanent residents in the field of play. Mobara has been good with his interceptions, clearances and tackles; and also showing casing the technical qualities, he carries. Someone who has helped Mobara to soar during this time is his centre back partner Taariq Fielies, the two have formed a formidable partnership as they are in sync when on the field of play. Mobara praised his partner when speaking to the Cape Town City media team.
“I played with Tara before, over the years we lost track as he went his way and I went my way but we meet again. This time at the bubble has given me a lot of hope and also with his expericne he has made things easier for me.
Taariq Fielies is a top player, and sometimes we have to accept his brilliance and compliment it. And also add my value to help him grow as player – and grow as a team as well.”
The duo of Abbubaker Mobara and Taariq Fielies along with the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Bradley Ralani, Thabo Nodada and recent hat trick hero Fargie Lakay have all been outstanding. Mobara acknowledges that the time in the bio-secure environment has brought the best out of his teammates.
“The bubble has been amazing amongst the players; this time has brought a lot of individual brilliances out off a lot of players in our team. We are in this bubble for one deed and as a team we want to execute this deed and go home with a smile.”
Next up for Cape Town City is Highlands Park who find themselves just outside of the top half of the table on goal difference. They will be looking for a win to go within a point of City, while seek to cement their top 8 status.
“Highlands Park is going to be a difficult game; they are different from a lot of teams in the leagues. We have a duty to form and we have information from the coach of what we need to do and we execute, and get three points so we can stay in the top 8,” concluded Mobabra.
